The Transport Board (TEO) and the Highland Games announce the Train to the Maxville Games
The North Glengarry Prescott & Russell Transport Board (TEO) and the Glengarry Highland Games announce details of the train excursion to and from the Glengarry Highland Games at Maxville on August 1st 2009.
The cooperation among the Board, VIA Rail Canada, the Highland Games and the Scottish and Irish Store in Ottawa – is noteworthy. The excursion from Ottawa is offered with a goal of traffic reduction and for greener travel to the Games.
On Saturday August 1st, a VIA Rail Canada train will be used to carry 68 persons from Ottawa to the Highland Games in Maxville. The morning departure towards Maxville will leave Ottawa at 9:55 am, and the return trip will leave Maxville about 6:50 pm toward Ottawa, allowing the participants to take in most of the events.
The number of seats being limited, prospective passengers should buy their combined tickets (train with Games) early. The VIA deadline is the end of June so time is of the essence.
The train fare will be $30 return from Ottawa for all ages (children under two, free) and admission to the Games will cost $20 (children under 12, free).

La Commission de Transport Glengarry Prescott & Russell (Transport est-ontarien – TEO) et les Jeux Highland de Glengarry annoncent les détails de l’excursion de train vers et retour des Jeux à Maxville du 1er août 2009.
La collaboration entre TEO, VIA Rail Canada, les Jeux de Glengarry et le magasin Scottish & Irish d’Ottawa est remarquable. L’excursion à partir d’Ottawa est offerte pour favoriser la réduction de la congestion routière et des déplacements plus verts vers les Jeux.
Le Samedi 1er août, un train de VIA Rail transportera 68 personnes d’Ottawa vers les Jeux à Maxville.
Le train matinal vers Maxville partira d’Ottawa (Gare ch. Tremblay) à 6h55 et le retour de Maxville se fera dès 18 h 50 vers Ottawa permettant aux voyageurs de participer dans la plupart des évènements.
Le nombre de sièges étant limité, les gens devront acheter leurs billets (incluant l’admission vers les jeux)
le plus tôt possible; l’échéancier de VIA est la fin juin alors le temps est limité.
Les coûts seront de 30 $ aller-retour d’Ottawa pour tous les groupes d’âge (enfant de moins de deux ans gratuit) et de 20 $ pour l’admission aux Jeux (enfant de moins de 12 ans gratuit).
